Corporate results: Atlas Honda posts Rs860m profit

KARACHI: Atlas Honda Limited - the leading motorcycle making company in Pakistan - posted a consolidated profit of Rs860 million for the quarter ended September 30, up 33% compared to Rs645 million in the same period last year, according to a company notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

Earnings per share (EPS) increased to Rs8.32 compared to an EPS of Rs6.24 in the same period last year.

In first six months (Mar-Sep 2016), the company’s earnings reached Rs1.71 billion compared with Rs1.34 billion in the same period last year.

Atlas Honda Limited’s share price closed at Rs507.42, down 4.75%.

To achieve the goal, the company has finished the first phase of its expansion project at the Sheikhupura plant, which will see its capacity increase from 750,000 units to 1.2 million units per annum.
