LAHORE: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) will stage ‘Curb Corruption’ march in Lahore on October 30, announced Senator Sirajul Haq on Tuesday. The JI chief was speaking at a gathering of Lahore High Court Bar Association, where he hailed the legal fraternity for its struggle against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf. Terming corruption the major problem of Pakistan, Siraj said another national-level movement – similar to the one launched for the restoration of judges in 2007 – was needed to crush the system of exploitation in the country. The JI chief said looters were flourishing everywhere and did not want any accountability. He claimed the prime minister had offered himself for accountability thrice on the television but never appeared in any court.
