DERA GHAZI KHAN: Students protesting against unfair marking by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Dera Ghazi Khan staged a mock funeral of the education board and blocked Multan Road for vehicular traffic for hours.

The students shouted slogans against the intermediate board officials and demanded that their papers be rechecked by the board and new results be announced.

The protesters demanded that their papers must be rechecked instead of simply having their marks recounted.

They claimed the students deserved to have their papers rechecked and claimed that a few students had been awarded more than the total marks of the paper.  The students said most of them got quite low marks than they expected on the basis of their performance in the exams.

They said the examiners did not do justice with the students and deprived them of their hard work.

The protesters threatened to continue protests if their demands were not fulfilled. Heavy contingents of police were called in to disperse the agitated students but the police failed to clear the road for several hours.
