Deepika Padukone’s accent in the new 'xXx' trailer is all anyone can talk about

Here's why

It is quite common to see an actor from the east trying to transform their accent once they land a role in a Hollywood film. From Aishwariya to Priyanka, we've seen the accent transformation and it is funny to hear a sudden shift, to the say the least.



But what makes the gorgeous Deepika Padukone stand out is her individuality and sense of security. The actor who is starring with Vin Diesel in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage says, "For years, we have accepted the British and Australian accent, for example. So its high time we accept an Indian accent."

She wants her accent to make a global impact and the star has walked the talk in the new trailer of her film.

Deepika is seen conversing in her natural accent quite comfortably and powerfully. "I play an Indian girl in the film, and for me, it’s a matter of great pride that I get to be myself. That is one of the aspects that drew me to the script and attracted me to do this film… I was allowed to flaunt that I am Indian," said the actor.



From Aishwariya's mixed fake British American accent to Priyanka's in Quantico, we're glad that someone took a step to pull a full stop to the exaggerated delivery.
