SAHIWAL: District administration has initiated inquiry against three health officials for their alleged involvement in minting money from food outlets on Friday.

While speaking to The Express Tribune, Assistant Commissioner Saba Asghar said Sahiwal Commissioner Babar Hayat Tarar ordered an inquiry against three officials of health department for minting money in her name.

She added the inquiry had been initiated against District Health officer Aslam Pervaiz Bhatti, Sanitary Inspector Chaudhry Muneer and Sanitary Supervisor Mirza Waris. She said the suspected officials were involved in minting money from various restaurants and food outlets in her name. She further said the suspects used to threaten hotel owners of raids if they failed to pay extortion amount.
