Na-258: By-elections to be held on Nov 22

ISLAMABAD: The by-elections for National Assembly’s constituency NA-258 will be held on November 22 in Karachi. The seat had fallen vacant due to the resignation of Abdul Hakeem Baloch, who was elected on a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz ticket in the 2013 general elections. Baloch was given the portfolio of state minister for communication however, he soon developed differences with the party leadership and resigned and has rejoined the Pakistan Peoples Party. According to the schedule issued on Friday by the Election Commission of Pakistan, intending candidates can file their nomination papers between October 17 and October 18. The final list of eligible candidates will be made on November 2 and polling will be held on November 22.
