As reported earlier, Jami’s Moor is set to re-release in theatres as part of the move by local exhibitors to screen Pakistani movies only. It seems the step is turning out to be a good business move for many film-makers, especially Jami, as his action film Operation 021 has joined the line-up too.

While the film did average business on the box office, it was lauded by critics. Those who missed it during its initial run in 2014, now have another chance to see the acclaimed film on the big screen.

Jami’s excitement has surely doubled. “This is the biggest news for me. I know Moor went places but 021 coming back to screens is quite ironical because two cinemas had removed it after the first show,” he told The Express Tribune.

10 movies Jami wants everyone to watch

Asked whether he’s more excited for Operation 021 or for Moor, he said, “I’m more excited for 021 because Moor is still running at least somewhere around the world.”

With both of his films running in cinemas once again, it would be interesting to see which one attracts more audiences. While Operation 021 was nominated for the Best Film at Lux Style Awards, Moor was selected as Pakistan’s official entry for the Academy Awards.

Boman Irani opts out of Pakistani film

Considering both films lean more toward serious cinema rather than delivering all-out entertainment, it remains to be seen which film the audience is more interested in watching.

Cinephile | 7 years ago | Reply Jami, give the movie a new sound mix (some dialogue was inaudible, subtitles rapidly disappeared) and perhaps a new edit, adding more scenes that were cut out. Release a new director's cut. The film was good, but would be much better if the aforementioned are taken into account. Thanks.
