Another key NAB post falls vacant

NAB repatriates director-general operation Kausar Iqbal Malik to his parent department, the National Bank of Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has repatriated director-general operation Kausar Iqbal Malik to his parent department, the National Bank of Pakistan.

Kausar Iqbal Malik, a banker by profession, has been working at the NAB headquarters in Islamabad since December 2008.

Analysts say NAB, which is already facing shortage of manpower, will definitely suffer due to Malik’s departure.

Malik was supervising thousands of cases and conducting operation against the corrupt officials in light of Supreme Court’s order.

He was also looking into the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) cases reopened after the apex court declared NRO unconstitutional last year.
