KARACHI: As the release of Shor Sharaba draws nearer, the cast and crew have taken to promoting it across Pakistan. The first poster of the upcoming film was recently revealed during a colourful ceremony held in Lahore.

The event saw producer Sohail Khan as well as actor-singer Rabi Pirzada and other team members participate in a media conference organised by the production team. “I began working on Shor Sharaba five years ago, with the aim of delivering a super hit film with great music,” Khan said. “The cast primarily consists of young actors but I have also given opportunity to seniors like Meera and Bahar Begum. We have launched a promotional campaign for Shor Sharaba as well and remain hopeful that people will enjoy it.”

Although a release date has not yet been finalised, Shor Sharaba is expected to hit screens sometime before the end of 2016. It must be noted that the film has been directed by Indian film-maker Hasnain Hyderabadwala and choreographer Reshma Khan has worked on its dance sequences, thereby giving the impression of it being an Indo-Pak collaboration.

Khan, however, clarified that Shor Sharaba is a purely Pakistani venture, coming out of Lollywood. “The director and choreographer were hired from India due to some pressing concerns but that will probably not be the case in the future. We have very good actors and technicians in Pakistan and we will utilise their services henceforth,” he claimed.

As the leading lady of Shor Sharaba, Pirzada also shared her two cents about the film. “This will be the first time I am performing as a heroine and really hope the audience will appreciate my efforts,” said the singer-turned-actor. “Pakistani cinema has been doing well for the past few years. I believe Shor Sharaba will be an important film for the revival of Lollywood. It’s got a great script and people will surely remember it for years to come.”
