LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge has ordered Allama Iqbal Town’s SHO to record statement of a poet to further proceed with his petition in which he is seeking a case against his publisher for embezzlement of Rs1.05 million.

Syed Sajjad Haidar Shah, the petitioner, submitted that he had not been paid for his work despite an agreement with the publisher named T&T.

According to him, the agreement was that the publisher would receive 30% commission on a sum of Rs1.05 million after three months of submission, which Sajjad agreed to. However, after submitting his writings, the publisher refused to answer his phone calls prompting Sajjad to go to court. He requested the court to direct the concerned SHO to register an FIR against the accused on grounds of embezzlement.
