LAHORE: A photo walk was arranged at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park in the city on Sunday to reinforce the public’s resilience against the growing scourge of militancy.

Akmal Khan, one of the key organisers, said Pur Azm Pakistan is a nationwide campaign launched by the Federal Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage in collaboration with Pak Peace Collective. The initiative serves to pay tribute to people whose lives have been affected by violent extremism.

“Pur Azm Pakistan exposes the true impact of homegrown militancy that has affected millions of Pakistanis,” Akmal said. “[It does this] by documenting the tragedies faced by ordinary Pakistanis.”

According to the organiser, the campaign aims to foster public resilience by highlighting the personal experiences of people who have dealt with these circumstances. Many of them have volunteered for the programme. “As an extension of this project, the information ministry aims to include the public by sharing their stories through a nationwide media awards competition called Pur Azm Awards,” he said.
