One piece three ways: Sonya Battla

We have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection, according to their own individual style and taste!

The cappuccino, ombré tunic by Sonya Battla is made out of an opulent silk-georgette fabric, and has a one-sided high-low hemline, providing the silhouette fluidity and allowing for one to drape as they please. It is delicately embellished with gold crystal detailing on it’s neckline, adding some glamour to the extremely wearable, and versatile piece.

My personal style is very minimalistic — I always prefer keeping it simple and classic. I wore this Sonya Battla high-low hemline tunic as a dress. I left it open and loose and carried part of it’s draping in my hand. I paired this with gold peep-toe pumps, and some gold jewellery including earring and bangles to match the embellishment on its neckline. I kept my hair simple and chic, with a regular blow-dry, and for my make-up I used some shimmer on my eyes with messy eyeliner to create a formal, yet natural effect. I would wear this outfit to an evening event, like a ball or party.

To style this Sonya Battla tunic I first tied the drapes around my waist and then placed it off-the-shoulder to accentuate my shoulder blades. I then paired it with black flared pants. For my make-up I used some shimmer on my eyelids, lots of mascara, and applied an up-to-date brown lipstick. I kept my hair poker-straight. I then wore silver wedges, and grabbed an orange clutch, to give my outfit a little pop of colour. I would wear this outfit on a dinner date with my husband!

I decided to style Sonya Battla’s ombré tunic with white pants and white peep-toe shoes to draw attention to the tunic and keep the look simple and classy. I would wear this outfit to a formal dinner or an evening affair, hence I kept my make-up dressier than usual — with dramatic eyes and a soft, pink lip. I accessorised with gold, contemporary jewellery that paired well with the embellished neckline of the top. I wore it off my shoulder to give it more oomph and pinned the slit in the front to complement my body shape. I completed the outfit with a dark clutch and dark nails — I’m ready for a night out!
