LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a number of eateries and imposed penalties on several others on charges of poor cleanliness and adulteration on Monday. The Aziz Bhatti and Wagha Town food safety officers sealed Bread and Beyond Sweets and Bakers, Badian Road over poor cleanliness and non-availability of requisite food license. The PFA officials also sealed Baithak Restaurant over improper insect control arrangements. The restaurant was operating the business without food license from the provincial food authority. Similarly, PFA Samanabad Town officials sealed Lasani Desi Mashroob for using substandard ingredients and flavours in beverages. The officials also discarded around 31 litres of syrup and sent its sample for laboratory examination.
