The directions came from SSP-Operations Sajid Kiani, who chaired a performance review meeting attended by senior police officials.
“To protect lives and property of people is the prime responsibility of the police,” said the SSP.
Moreover, the SSP also directed officials to make adequate security arrangements for media houses, educational institutes, banks and other important buildings. They were also directed to improve coordination with the citizens for security during the month of Muharram.
SDPOs and SHOs were also directed to ensure security for polio workers in their respective areas.
Furthermore, Kiani instructed the officers to complete the under-investigation cases at the earliest.
The meeting also decided to put people with a criminal record under surveillance.
The SSP also asked the SHOs to control the crime rate in their jurisdictions and to utilise the Safe City Project cameras.
