An online group exhibition of artwork , “Facial Recognition” showcasing works of up and coming artists Zoya Manan, Ammama Malik and Sana Saeed will open at MyArtWorld.
The collection will focus on facial familiarity and how each artist perceives distinct facial features that encompass their surroundings.
Manan will be showcasing paintings on wood from two of her latest series using her signature style of merging real situations into surreal paintings chiefly by means of faces and figures in enclosed, claustrophobic spaces.
Manan’s work is a testament to her fight with cerebral palsy, as she uses contradictory colours- so that the user can experience imbalance.
Malik’s larger than life; oil on canvas portraits will also be showcased at the exhibition.
Malik takes inspiration from the traditional Renaissance and Baroque art and portrays her muse’s narrative through light, shadows, tonal variation, and drapery.
Saeed has explored various forms of layering, and her work will also be exhibited.
Saeed’s oil on canvas paintings are mostly layered with a translucent sheet added with a detailed ink rendering on them.
Each of her paintings has a different mood and concept that is shown by the expressions.
The show is expected to capture multiple narratives that visitors can relate to and connect through various angles.
The exhibition will go on display on September 15 and will continue till September 25.
