Mahgul Rashid, marketing head and face of Arammish Spa, welcomes us into the spa’s lounge to kick back, relax and discuss why it’s her favourite corner!

One goes to the spa to get pampered and escape from all the worries of reality, Arammish is no different. As we walk into the spa, we see a pathway of greenery making us feel at one with nature and calming our senses from the minute we walk in.

We are led up to the first floor and as the doors slide open we notice vibrant pops of green, pink and more. Curious as to why the change in colour scheme from the monotonous grey, black and white in the rest of the spa, we pose the question. “The whole idea was to shock and excite our clients before leading them into the treatment rooms, hence we kept this room fun and relaxed with a colour scheme of green and fuchsia in mind,” Mahgul Rashid explains. This room was designed as a ‘waiting room’ per se where one can kick back, relax, sip some herbal tea, maybe order a bite to eat and have a nice chat with friends and family. “Ours clients come to us to escape from the hustle and bustle of their daily life, so this room is intended to distract them from their worries and allow them to take a moment to enjoy their surroundings before their treatments,” Mahgul Rashid says.

The room as a whole is very spacious with large green sofas, a welcome desk, a few chairs and the Arammish Kitchen where one can order delicious food and snacks while they wait. The first thing that catches our eye is a beautifully hand-crafted apple-green side table by Home Couture, which is used as a smaller reception desk to follow up on one’s treatments. This table with intricate detailing of flowers, leaves and birds, seems to be telling a thought-provoking story. It stays true to the theme of nature, which we first noticed walking through the green pathway. Our gaze falls on the fuchsia chevron chairs on the other end of the room, which are hard to miss. “Attiya Rashid of Home Couture did the interior designing with me for this corner and all the furniture is made by her too,” Mahgul Rashid says as she sees our excited eyes still eyeing the chairs. Another favourite piece of ours in this space are the semi-distressed carpets that echo the colour palette in the entire area, marrying the concept together. While we are chatting with Mahgul Rashid, we bump into Attiya Rashid who enlightens us about the source of the carpets. She explains: “I got the carpets from Assac Corporation as I was inspired by the boho-chic vibe the bright colours brought, and these carpets fit the brief perfectly.”

The aim of this corner was to make the waiting process before the treatments enjoyable and relaxing and its creators definitely achieved that. There is no detail left untouched here — from the herbal essence sprays around the room, to the calm ones senses in here, to the comfy sofas, large enough to kick off your shoes and curl up on. Arammish has always been a good ‘one-stop-shop’ to de-stress but it just got even better. We may even drop by earlier than our scheduled appointment just to spend more time in this welcoming waiting room.
