ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Mayor and acting Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz said that projects that enhance development and facilitate residents would be given priority.

Aziz made these remarks on Friday while inspecting ongoing development work on the service roads of E-11.

The mayor said that IMC and the CDA would work together on development projects to make Islamabad a modern metropolis.

He added that development work in Sector D-12 was in its final stages, while work on the widening of both service roads (East and North) in E-11 was in progress.

He was briefed by civic agency’s officials that construction work on both service roads leading to Sector D-12 had been initiated four months ago.

The estimated cost for the construction of roads was Rs249 million, but the completion cost would only be Rs178 million as the tender was awarded at 28 per cent below the projected cost.
