Inferno: Fire engulfs shops in Lunda Market

At least eight shops were gutted

ABBOTTABAD: At least eight shops were gutted when a fire erupted in a Lunda Market near Abbottabad Museum on Friday. No loss of life was reported. According to the police and Rescue 1122, the cause of the fire remains unknown. The fire erupted from one of eight shops at around 10.30pm and engulfed all seven shops situated in the vicinity. Rescue 1122 personnel and fire extinguishers from Cantonment Board Abbottabad reached the spot and extinguished the flames within 30 minutes. All the items at the shops were destroyed. The owners have estimated losses worth millions of rupees and demanded compensation from the government.
