"His [Dr Wahab's] specialty, other than teaching, was in maintaining the discipline and academic level of the varsity," recalled Dr Qaiser, adding that Dr Wahab not only introduced the academic calendar at KU, but implemented it properly.
Former vice-chancellor of KU and director of Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dr Wahab made IBA one of the most distinguished business schools of the country. "IBA is now a globally recognised institution due to his pioneering role and KU is taking benefits from the decisions he took in his tenure," continued Dr Qaiser.
"He was among those few distinguished academicians who worked tirelessly for the promotion of quality education in the country," said Dr Qaiser, adding that his exemplary contribution in the education sector cannot be forgotten.
"The evening programme at KU was Dr Wahab's brainchild and now it is the backbone of KU as the university depends upon it, financially," said KU Teachers Society president Prof Dr Shakeel Farooqui.
He was also responsible for putting an end to cheating culture during the degree examinations by holding these exams in KU, said Farooqui, adding that Dr Wahab showed how to run varsities in an efficient manner through his decisions and actions.
