MUMBAI: Priyanka Chopra-starrer Mary Kom completed two years of its release this week and the actor shared the film was so much more than just another project for her. The Bajirao Mastani star also thanked everyone who worked with her on the Omung Kumar directorial.

Priyanka shared a still from the biopic on Tuesday night and captioned the image, “Wow time flies! Two years of Mary Kom. This film was so much more than a movie for me. I think I poured all my grief after losing my dad into it.”

Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mary Kom also starred actor Darshan Kumaar. A biopic of real-life boxing champion MC Mary Kom, Priyanka’s character was a fearless woman who becomes an icon through her determined pursuit of sporting excellence. “Sanjay sir, Omung, Saiwyn, Mary and everyone who worked on the film, thank you! And for all those who gave it so much love, gratitude,” said Priyanka. The 34-year-old actor also thanked her fans for making the film a hit.

Looking back to the time she was crowned Miss World, Priyanka stated, “I didn’t even know I was beautiful until… I don’t even know it now. I don’t think I was the most beautiful girl in the world. I think I won because I was well-spoken and I was decently turned out. The stars aligned that day but I taught myself to be the best version of myself over the years.”
