HP in April unveiled Spectre, making it the maker of world’s thinnest laptop. However, HP’s reign was short-lived as Acer unveiled recently a laptop slimmer than HP’s Spectre.

With Swift 7, launched at this year’s IFA in Berlin, Acer joined the super-slim laptop club. The latest Acer laptop is 9.98mm thick, making the first ever laptop to be under 1cm.

The laptop is slightly lighter than HP’s Spectre as it weighs just 2.4 pounds compared to Spectre which weighs 2.45 pounds. Swift 7 has a gold inner surface and a matte black aluminium exterior giving the laptop a modernistic sense of flair.

Swift 7 has 13-inch full HD display with IPS technology and a 256GB SSD storage along with two USB Type-C ports and headphone jack ports. The company claims that the laptop has a battery life of up to 9 hours on single charge. It also has a huge trackpad, at 72mm to be precise, making navigation really easy.

Although the exact date of release and prices might vary  region to region, Acer’s Swift 7 which runs on Windows 10 operating system is coming to the US and Europe in October starting at $999 and €1,299, respectively.
