“Drip irrigation is a modern irrigation system for efficient use of water. It will enhance productivity of orchards,” he said.
He said the government would bear 60 per cent of the expenses for installation of the system. “The rest should be funded by farmers,” he said. “Recently, we installed drip irrigation systems on 800 acres in the district,” he said. “Now, the district is producing grapes, lychee and many other fruits,” he said. He said farmers could submit applications for the new system with the department.
