ISLAMABAD: Police are on the lookout for a gang of four persons, who wearing army uniforms, looted a house during a “search operation” in Sarai Madhu area in Tarnol.

Inayatullah, a resident of Sarai Madhu, told the police that four persons in army uniform entered his sister, Jahan Ara’s house on Thursday.

They told the family that they were soldiers and wanted to search the house.

The impersonators took away jewellery, cash, clothes, and two mobile phones during the “search”.

Though the Tarnol police have registered a case no arrests or recoveries were made till the filing of this report on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the police arrested a man identified as Muhammad Iqbal for wearing an army uniform from the PWD Colony.

The police said Iqbal could not prove his identity.

During the investigation, he told the police that one, Raheel Anwar Butt, had told him to wear the uniform.

Butt has been booked.
