ISLAMABAD: The parents of a teenage boy who went missing from Golra area two years ago continue the search for their son.

At least they have been able to get a case of the missing boy registered with the Golra police station after two years and four months.

Imran, 14, went missing while working at his father’s pushcart selling ganderi (sugarcane bits) near the Golra Railway Station.

Pervaiz Khan, the father of the 14-year-old boy, told The Express Tribune that he sells sugarcane bits at Maskeen Market where Imran worked with him.

On April 17, 2014, he left Imran, the eldest of four siblings, at the stall and went to his nearby home to get medicine. Upon his return, he found Imran missing.

The poor family, who hails from Mardan in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, have been searching for the boy for over two years but have found no clue of him.

They also checked with all their relatives here as well as back in Mardan but found no clue of the boy. He was in grade three when he left school and started helping his father.

A few weeks ago, the family approached Defence for Human Rights, an organisation working for missing persons which helped them lodge a FIR for their missing son.

The Golra police registered a kidnapping case against unidentified persons on August 25 but have made no headway in the case yet.

“Police have told us that they would look for the boy in jails. So far, we haven’t heard from them,” said Khan.

“We have looked for him everywhere. His father is ill now. We need help in recovering our son,” Imran’s mother Bushra said.

The family has appealed to relevant authorities to help them locate their son.

Khan can be approached at phone number 0333-5372589.
