KARACHI: Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah finalised around 1,900 pending summaries which were lying unattended for the last three years at CM House.

Officials said the summaries which were waiting for the CM's approval pertain to the deceased quota of government employees working in various departments, land allotments, personal hearings of government employees facing inquires, population policy and age relaxation, among others.

"Most of the summaries were related to services matters and thus a minor issue took almost three years [to be resolved]," an official working at CM House said, adding that lots of people were facing problems as the former CM did not make any decision regarding these summaries.

For example, take the climate change department that was formed a few months ago, said an official. The department was announced but two summaries were pending to execute its affairs. "Now, the summary has been approved and the government has formally issued a notification about the department's working," the official added.
