Track-II diplomacy: ‘Pakistan wants to boost bilateral ties with Afghanistan’

TORKHAM: Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastagir Khan has said that Pakistan wants to boost bilateral trade and commerce with Afghanistan. He maintained they had started a track-II trade relationship with Afghanistan for this purpose.

He expressed these views during a visit at Pak-Afghan border on Thursday. Customs officers, officials of National Logistics Cell and Khyber Agency Political Agent Khalid Mehmood briefed the minister about trade between the two countries and the history of Khyber Agency.

He added Pakistan also wanted to strengthen trade relations with the Central Asian countries. “The only way we can achieve those dreams is through Afghanistan,” he added.
