ABBOTTABAD: Opposing the proposed merger of Fata with K-P, Tehreek-e-Suba Hazara chief Baba Haider Zaman said the move was nothing more than turning masters into slaves.

He issued this statement while speaking to the media at his residence on Wednesday. However, the party leader said it was heartening to see the struggle of the people of Fata was about to bear fruit as the government was considering granting them their due constitutional rights. At the same time, he saw it as accepting another form of slavery.

"They are going to accept slavery again after breaking the shackles of the FCR," he said.  The party leader said Fata has the required population and resources to become a full-fledged province. He complained some elders preferred to ally themselves with ruling parties and chose to agree to the merger.
