RPOs directed to improve performance

IGP says police should coordinate with people to eliminate crime

PESHAWAR: A regional police officers’s (RPO) conference was presided over by Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani at Central Police Office Peshawar on Wednesday.

According to a handout issued, the meeting reviewed the implementation of Police Ordinance, 2016, briefing of DPOs, SDPOs, SHOs by the RPOs, presentation on law and order to the district assembly by DPOs and other matters.

The IGP informed participants that after the implementation of Police Ordinance, 2016, responsibilities of police officers will increase.



“Participants should keep close liaison with the public and work diligently to eliminate crime.”

He also instructed RPOs to improve their performance and make efforts to curb criminal activities in their districts.

He directed RPOs to assign tasks to SDPOs and assess their performance every month.

The RPOs were also urged to hold meetings in their respective districts on a monthly basis and review law and order situation.

“The performance of Dispute Resolution Councils should also be monitored,” the IGP added.

Additional IGP Headquarters Mian Muhammad Asif, Additional IGP Operations Dr Muhammad Naeem and all RPOs attended the meeting.
