PESHAWAR: A man identified as Mujahid, who was killed two weeks ago, has been found to be associated with Dai’sh, Afghanistan.

After investigation, the law-enforcing agencies found out that the deceased, Mujahid, owner of a local restaurant on Ring Road, was an affiliate of Dai’sh in Afghanistan, a reliable source told The Express Tribune.

Mujahid was killed by unidentified individuals when they opened fire on him outside his restaurant.

He was a resident of Jalabad, Afghanistan and was previously affiliated with the Afghan Taliban, but was later approached by Dai’sh to join their ranks. However, his family eventually forced him to move to Peshawar. “Mujahid was heavily involved with Dai’sh in Afghanistan,” the source said. “When he reached Peshawar, he was picked up by intelligence agencies. However, he was released after months in captivity before his death”, the source added.
