Illegal Act: FIR sought against imposter

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday directed the Data Darbar station house officer (SHO) to file comments on a general councillor’s petition seeking a case against a man claiming (falsely) to be a councillor. Petitioner Mian Muhammad Hussain, a general councillor, submitted to the court that Zaheer Butt had lost the last local council election to him, but he had been pretending to be a general councillor. He said that Butt was using the word “general councillor” with his name on banners and signboards. He asked the court to direct the Data Darbar SHO to register an FIR against Butt.
