Sans principal: Position vacant since 18 months

SWABI: The position of a principal at Government Girls High School Tordher in Chota Lahor tehsil in Swabi has been vacant for the last 18 months. A social activist, Farman, and local journalist Niazi told The Express Tribune on Tuesday girls from more than five union councils and three neighbourhood councils studied at the school.

“The school has more than 1,200 students and most of the teachers were reluctant to take their classes since there was no principal to keep a check on them,” Niazi said.

The previous principal was transferred to another school in the district in January 2015 and since then, the school was being run by a senior teacher who had limited authority. “Teachers do not cooperate with the senior teacher,” Farman said.

He urged the ministry of education to fill the vacant post and avoid mismanagement in the school.
