Addressing a workers convention, Maulana Fazl said: “They would not accept any law that would be enacted to perpetuate one-sided agenda.”
Will not let Pakistan become secular, says Fazlur Rehman
He said the Jamiat-Ulema-Islam was established in 1919 and he was happy that it was almost a century old. He also said during by-elections in Taunsa, JUI-F workers and loyalists were subjected to assault and torture.
Maulana Fazl asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to investigate the recently-held by-election in Taunsa for alleged rigging. He demanded that the government quash all fake cases registered against JUI-F workers at once and claimed that the government wanted to impose dictatorship on madrassas through legislation.
