HYDERABAD/ KARACHI: An accountability court remanded on Saturday Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) president, Seth Goharullah, into National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody for two weeks in a graft case. The NAB had arrested Goharullah during a raid in Hyderabad and presented him before the accountability courts’ administrative judge in Karachi. According to the anti-graft watchdog, the businessman was involved in extending Rs2.1billion loss to the national exchequer during an illegal sale of a coalmine. The judge allowed investigators to keep the custody of Goharullah, chairperson of Fateh Textile Mills, for 14 days and sought a progress report on the next hearing. Talking to The Express Tribune, HCCI vice-president Ziauddin said they would challenge Goharullah’s remand in the Sindh High Court on August 22.
