Busted Suspect held for looting goods

SP Altaf added that the group has sold goods worth Rs10 million while the police have recovered the remaining

KARACHI: The police claim to have arrested a man allegedly involved in snatching a container carrying goods worth millions of rupees.

The accused, Ashraf, was arrested from Hyderabad. His arrest was disclosed during a press conference by District Malir Investigations SP Malik Altaf at his office on Friday evening. SP Altaf said that the accused and his companions had snatched a container carrying cosmetic goods worth Rs30 million on June 13 this year when the goods were being transported to Lahore from Karachi on Super Highway. He said that the container was later recovered from Super Highway but the gang shifted the goods to a godown in Azizabad area. SP Altaf added that the group has sold goods worth Rs10 million while the police have recovered the remaining.
