Espresso delivery boy falls to death in Karachi elevator accident

Raza Sajjad stepped inside an elevator but fell right off as the lift shaft was not there, police say

A delivery boy fell to death Wednesday night in the Karachi’s Clifton area in an elevator accident, police said.

Sajjad Raza, 26, worked at Espresso Café and was supposed to deliver an order at Columbus Tower. According to police, Raza stepped inside the elevator but fell right off as the lift shaft was not there.

The staffers of the said café went to check on him when he failed to return after two hours and found his vehicle parked outside the apartments.

His body was found inside the lift shaft on Thursday.

The police will start the investigations only if the employer or the relatives file a complaint as per the law, a senior police official said.
