ISLAMABAD: Ten girls’ colleges from Islamabad and Rawalpindi are participating in the annual intercollegiate student week organised by Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-7/4.

The second day’s events were divided into two sections: the morning competition commenced with English declamations and the afternoon featured fun cooking, painting and drama competitions.

“It gives me great joy to see such talented and empowered young girls; they truly are the future of this country,” Muzaffar Mehmood Qureshi, Former Secretary Women and Development Social Welfare and the chief guest, said after the declamation competition.

NUML lecturer Habibur Rehman, Umar Farooq and Ayesha Farooq judged the declamation competition and Snobar Sultan of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Girls College won the first prize.

IMCG, the host college, withdrew from the prize distribution, even though several awards and positions were allocated to them.

As the activities changed so did the panel of judges. The cooking competition was judged upon creativity and presentation of variety of rice and chocolate manias.

Ayesha Mushtaq of Cantonment Board College Kashmir Road won the first prize for Chocolate Mania while Zohra Baig of Fauji Foundation cooked up a storm when it came to rice, taking away the first position.

The painting and drama competitions were judged by Hamoon Rasheed of PTV and Fareeha Usman, professional dancer and choreographer. Jasia and Group of IMCG F-10/2 won for their super hilarious enactment of TV drama Bulbulay.
