“As the campaign is headed towards Lahore, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) faces a tough month ahead,” he said. He said the PTI had taken to the streets after the PML-N-led government had refused to come clean over the allegations of corruption.
Chaudhry said the accountability campaign would not end until the desired goals had been achieved. “The Sharif family is scared of accountability,” he said. He said the people and political leaders should unite to rise to the challenges faced by Pakistan. He called for holding the corrupt accountable to rid the country of the political turmoil. Former governor Chaudhry Sarwar urged opposition parties to “move ahead” to save the country from corruption. “We can no longer remain silent over an issue that has plagued the country,” he said. Like terrorism, he said, corruption was a big challenge. “The PTI has taken to the streets to rid the nation of corrupt people.” Sarwar said the campaign would gain momentum in the coming days. “Remaining silent over injustice and corruption will amount to yet another injustice. All opposition parties must come forward to end corruption failing which they will risk political irrelevance,” he said.
