KARACHI:

The city traffic police have issued a traffic plan to maintain order on the roads on Independence Day (today). According to a press release issued by the traffic police on Saturday, Sea View Road from McDonalds to Village restaurant will remain one-way on August 14 from 5pm onwards. Commuters arriving from Khayaban-e-Ittehad will not be allowed to reach Sea View and will be diverted from the Village restaurant to Do Darya. Those coming from Do Darya will not be allowed to come towards Beach Avenue (Sea View Road). They can use Saba Avenue, 26th Street or Khayaban-e-Shujaat instead. Heavy traffic including buses and minibuses will not be allowed from Teen Talwar and Bilawal Chowrangi to Abdullah Shah Ghazi's shrine and the 26th Street signal. Meanwhile, there were unconfirmed reports of mobile services being suspended in the city as part of security  measures.
