Syed Ali Farhan, 32, resident of alFalah Society in Malir, was beaten up by his friends inside his house on July 27.
The family had accused six of his friends, including Fayyaz, Uzair, Farooq, Arshad, Sagheer and Adeel, for torturing their friend to death.
The motive is said to be a monetary dispute. The accused had suffered a loss of Rs4.5 million invested in the stock market through Farhan, who worked there.
Uzair approached a District East's sessions court requesting his interim bail in the murder case. When Uzair reached the city courts, the victim's family identified him and alerted the police. He was locked up for a brief time. However, later on, his lawyer got him released after the court approved his interim bail against a surety of Rs200,000 till August 21.
Meanwhile, the police also brought to the court the suspect in custody, Faizan, for an identification parade before the judicial magistrate. Faizan's name is, however, not mentioned in the FIR lodged by Farhan's family. According to the police, Faizan had accompanied the six prime suspects on the day that Farhan was beaten up
Since, the lawyers are observing a strike against the killing of their comrades in Monday's attacks in Quetta, the identification parade under the Code of Criminal Procedure could not be performed.
