Weapons seized: Three suspected militants arrested

At least three suspected militants were arrested during different raids in the city on Friday.

In the first incident, the police raided a hideout in Pir Kalay within the jurisdiction of Mathra police station and arrested two militants after an exchange of fire. The suspected militants were identified as Muhammad Umair alias Mansoor alias Topchai and his friend Tufail. According to the police, both of them were residents of Chargar Matti. Two 9-mm pistols, two improvised explosive devices (IED) weighing four kilogrammes each and four hand grenades were also seized from their possession. During interrogation, Umair confessed to his involvement in several cases of terrorism, including attacks on policemen.

In another incident, the police arrested a militants, identified as Jehangir alias, Yasin after a shootout in Weno Saray area within the jurisdiction of Yakatoot police station. However, one of accomplices managed to escape. A 9-mm pistol, several hand grenades, a motorbike and an IED was also confiscated from his possession.
