Bugtis’ movement: Provincial high court adjourns hearing

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has adjourned the hearing of a petition of Shahzain Bugti and his brother against restriction on their movement under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance (MPO).

Balochistan’s home department put a restriction on the movement of Shahzain Bugti and his brother Guhram Bugti to Quetta under 5 MPO. Bugti had filed a petition in the BHC and requested that the government’s ban on his movement be declared illegal. Official respondents filed a counter affidavit during the hearing on Monday and requested the court for an in-camera session because of the issue’s sensitivity. The vacation judge of the high court adjourned the hearing of the petition till February 10. Talking to the media, Shahzain Bugti said he respected the judiciary and would accept the court’s verdict.
