Traffic policeman suspended in Swat for penalising PTI MNA's father

Senior official were unavailable to comment on the matter despite repeated attempts to contact them

MINGORA: A traffic warden was suspended from service; his only crime being to establish the rule of law in Kanju Town in Swat. The warden was sent to the police lines after he penalised PTI MNA Murad Saeed’s father on Thursday for a traffic offence.

According to locals, MNA Murad Saeed’s father was travelling from Kabal to Mingora when traffic police stopped him for violating a traffic rule.

The warden also fined him Rs315 and gave a receipt, but the MNA’s father refused to take it and immediately called his son. Insiders revealed the MNA asked senior police officials to suspend the traffic policemen and withdraw the fine.

However, traffic warden Muhammad Hayat refused and was summoned to the police lines as a consequence of his actions.

Senior official were unavailable to comment on  the matter despite repeated attempts  to contact them. However, Murad Saeed defended his father, saying it was the right decision and everybody has the right to protect themselves.
