Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has written a letter to the incumbent top judge seeking his intervention in resolving a dispute over the allotment of a plot to another judge.
The former CJP on July 9 had written the first letter to CJP Anwar Zaheer Jamali claiming to be the actual allottee of plot No.114-A, Street No.7, Sector D-12/2 which has been transferred to another SC judge. He sought the CJP Jamali’s intervention.
The ex-CJP on August 2 sent another letter to Justice Jamali for the early redressal of the issue. The letter, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, says that if this controversy is laid for adjudication before the judicial forum, it is likely to create embarrassment for the whole institution. Conversely, its disposal on merit at your [CJP] end would be in the interest of all of us.
The ex-CJP was allotted one kanal in G-14/4 in 2002 which he owns to date.
