They were speaking at a workers’ convention of the Insaf Tigers Force at the Chairman’s Secretariat. The convention was attended by members and office holders of the ITF.
PTI central organiser Jehangir Tareen said the party chairman had warned members against forming groups in the party. “Group making can threaten unity. Strict action will be taken against members found creating differences in the party ranks,” he said.
On internal rifts, he said the party had moved past that phase. “I have been given the mandate to keep the party united,” he said.
Tareen said eradication of corruption was the country’s biggest challenge. He said the party’s anti-corruption agitation would begin on August 7 with a protest march in Peshawar. Tareen urged ITF members to participate in the agitation. Chaudhry Sarwar said internal disagreements could threaten party unity. “I have no desire to seek any office in the party,” he said. PTI central Punjab president Aleem Khan was also present on the occasion.
