Actor and model, Shahroz Sabzwari plays a game of chance with us. From who he was in his past life to who his heros are in this life, he is at his candid best in this round of Toss Up

1. What did you do for your last birthday?

I don’t do anything for my birthday. Every year I tell my wife and family that I just want to play my PlayStation and not worry about anything else!

2. Who is your hero?

My dad.

3. Have you ever taken dance lessons?

No, I’ve never taken dance lessons. Dancing is the one thing that I’ve always enjoyed doing though, its one of my passions, like acting. 10 years ago I played a small part in a movie my uncle was making in India, Khule Aasman Key Neechay, and the choreographer was really impressed by me, so I got a chance to dance in the movie with my uncle and Humayun Saeed.

4. Who were you in your past life?

In my past life I was a samurai. They had really strong codes of respect and morality, which included defending their families. If not a samurai, I would be a jockey.

5. Tell us about the worst boss you ever had?

My directors are my bosses and none of them have ever been bad. With an actor and director it becomes a sort of student-teacher kind of relationship.

6. If you could have one super-power, what would it be?

Invisibility cloak.

7. Favourite TV show?

Big Bang Theory.

8. What is your dream vacation?

One where my wife, daughter and I would travel somewhere outside Pakistan, for a change.

9. What is the longest you’ve gone without sleep?

I’ve gone three days without sleep. I was shooting for an ad outside Karachi and we kept shooting for 24 hours. Then at 8am I had to take a flight to Lahore and shoot for another 24 hours.

10. Do you believe honesty is the best policy?

Yes, I’m a complete believer in that.

11. What novel do you find yourself reading again and again?

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson! I want everyone to read it. It’s a beautiful story, but it’s hard to find a copy of it in Pakistan.

12. Favourite Game of Thrones character?

I just started reading Games of Thrones, so it’s too soon to say.

13. What’s your star sign?

Leo.

14. What question do you hate to answer?

Anything too personal, especially a question involving my family, which I get asked very often as my wife also works as an actor in the industry. I’m very supportive of her working.

15. Best compliment you have ever received?

Being called a moophat insaan because I always mean something when I joke!

16. Favourite exercise?

I work out six days a week. I like weight training and the exercises vary every day depending on which part of my body I’m focusing on. So the question should actually be what my favourite body part is! I love shoulder day and leg days.

17. Favourite snack?

I’m not a snack person — no snacking at all during the day, unless it’s coffee cake!

18. What famous person do people tell you that you most resemble?

No one has said anything about who I resemble, but sometimes I make my wife tell me I look like Johnny Depp or Leonardo Dicaprio!

19. Have you ever had a food fight?

Maybe when I was a kid, but not that I can remember. I would love to go to La Tomantina festival though! (La Tomatina is a tomato food fight festival held every year in Spain).
