DERA GHAZI KHAN: Several members of the Young Doctors’ Association’s Dera Ghazi Khan chapter held a demonstration on Monday to demand permanent employment for doctors hired on ad-hoc basis. The protesters walked from the Dera Ghazi Khan Teaching Hospital medical superintendent’s office to Hospital Chowk. They demanded a notification of permanent employment and allowances for all doctors hired on ad-hoc basis. They said the lack of job security was affecting their performance. “Nurses have been given permanent jobs, why not us?” The protesters said they would stage a demonstration in front of the Provincial Assembly if the government did not accede to their demands.
