As many as 20 lawyers participated in the tournament. Lahore High Court advocates Shaikh Zahid Bashir, Sajjad Saqi and Tariq Batth were the first, second and third runners up. Lahore High Court Bar Association president Rana Zia Abdur Rehman also participated in the tournament. Punjab Chess Association’s representative Khalil Butt was also present on the occasion. The match between Advocate Ameer Ali, playing his first tournament at the LHC, and Advocate Muhammad Sheharyar, an experienced player, was particularly thrilling. Ali ended up beating Sheharyar. A ceremony will be held next week to distribute cash prizes and trophies among position holders.
