Shandur polo festival: Preparations under way in Chitral

CHITRAL: Preparations are under way for Shandur Polo Festival. “Chitral Scouts will organise the festival [with the coordination of the K-P government],” a senior security officer told to The Express Tribune on Wednesday. “Khattak dancers, paragliders, parachuters and music bands will perform at the event. Special residential facilities will be prepared for the tourists, special guests and journalists.” Local and foreign tourists have started pouring into the district and the hustle and bustle has increased in the markets. Security arrangements have already been taken by the police and security forces. The officer asked locals and tourists not to pay attention to rumours about the festival. The festival will take place on July 29.
