Going home: 62 Afghans sent back from Torkham  

LANDIKOTAL/PESHAWAR: At least 62 Afghan nationals who lacked proof of registration cards and other valid travel documents have been sent back from Torkham.

This was stated in a press release issued by the Frontier Corps on Wednesday. As per the document, all 62 Afghan nationals had crossed the border, but were deported from Shaheed More in Torkham.

Before deporting them to Afghanistan, personnel of security forces carried out a detailed screening and identity scrutiny of these people.

On the other hand, the Voluntary Repatriation Campaign is gaining momentum as 294 families have been repatriated under it. This was stated in a press release issued on Wednesday from Afghanistan Consulate General in Peshawar. Besides, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ campaign is also in full swing.
