AIOU to help bring madrassa students into mainstream

ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will provide academic support to the students of Wafaqul Madaris for accreditation of their BA and MA level degrees.

A meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Education Muhammad Balighur Rehman, concluded with the decision that madrassa students should now be able to enroll themselves with the AIOU at the graduate level.

It was agreed that that every possible means of support, including the provision of books as well as tutorial workshops will be provided by the AIOU to the enrolled students.

The AIOU Vice-Chancellor, Dr Shahid Siddiqui, assured the seminary students that they would be facilitated in the admission and examination process.
